Reincarnation Knowledge Base
Reincarnation? I think that we are all here for a reason. We have been here before and keep coming back because there is something that we aren't getting. I have the feeling that I have been here way longer than my 24 years. If you believe in reincarnation and that we are to keep coming back until we have a realization, what do you think that realization is? and what lies ahead once we have made it out of here? I know it's kinda deep, I should probably go to sleep huh?
reincarnation? I believe in reincarnation as one of the things that happens to us when we die. I was just wondering if there is anybody who has any past life memories? and if they would like to share them with me? thanks.
ReInCarnation???? can our souls learn all we need to in one lifetime? towards the 1st two answers: what if the copy of the bible we have today is wrong? 3rd answer was well thought out and on the right track 4th answer: i think im in love
How does reincarnation work in our universe? How could it possibly work in a universe that has a beginning and an end? There was a point in time, science proves, that our universe did not exist, and there will be a time when our universe is no longer livable. How could reincarnation work in this universe that is not eternal?
How do people who believe in reincarnation account for the growing population? I was reading up on a story about this little boy named James who is apparently a reincarnation of a WWII pilot who was shot down by the Japanese. Given all the information that he knew about his "past life"...I suppose I believe his story. But then I started thinking, are all people reincarnations of those who lived in the past? If so, why is the population growing? How are new souls formed?
How does reincarnation explain a growing population? I've always been fascinated by the idea of reincarnation, but what I don't understand is how the theory of reincarnation can explain our population, since it is enormous compared to past centuries. Isn't the idea that each soul goes into a new body? How does that work?
what is the difference between reincarnation and resurrectoin? to my understanding people who are hindu beleve in reincarnation and christians believe in resurrection. those who are hindu believe we will keep being reincarnated till we are the perfected beings Lord krishna wants. Do christians believe that we will not be reincarnated and either be sent to heaven or hell? is this what is meant by resurrection?
How do you feel about the idea of reincarnation? Please explain reincarnation to me. The only thing I THINK I know about it is you die, then you are reborn as something else. There has got to be more to it than that. Is it affiliated with specific religions, can a human come back as a plant? What are your thoughts on it even if you don't believe it can happen?
Why do meditation Gurus and their followers believe in reincarnation, soul and destiny? It is scientifically proven that meditation is stress reliever and provider of positive mental state. It helps in concentration in the study and the work. Then even after years of being in regular mediation, why do meditation gurus and their followers believe in reincarnation, soul, destiny based on previous life, etc which are not recognized by science? Cant they still see things as they are?
Why does the theme of reincarnation not exist in Christianity? Or does it? I was reading on Wikipedia that in early Christianity or early branches of it, the topic of reincarnation was there, thought of. Do you think it's possible that Hell does not exist and we pay for sins on Earth. "Hell" on Earth? Since souls can't be destroyed, I think, we reincarnate again and again until we do have true passage to Heaven. Because maybe we all should have the chance to go there!? Or maybe I'm just being dumb, tell me what you think, and actual facts.
What are your thoughts on reincarnation? I believe that it is more likely that reincarnation is the way of things than it is that we are here for only one physical lifetime. My belief in a Higher Power actually reinforces this belief because it makes very little sense that our everlasting soul would spend such a minute speck of time in the physical realm. I believe that each soul, a piece of the whole of God, experiences many physical lives. I believe that I have lived in the physical realm more than a thousand lives. Even that number may be very conservative. I want to clarify one thing here. I do not believe that we continue to come back to redeem ourselves or get it right. I don't believe that we have karma good or bad from previous lives. I believe that we come back by choice. I believe that we, our souls which even the bible states is our true self, choose the life we enter to experience some aslpect of the nature of who we are. Although I do believe that Spirit is in everything, or more precisely, everything is a part of the One Spirit, I don't believe that we would choose to return as a slug or some other less evolved creature.
Reincarnation and a constant number of living beings? If there is reincarnation, would you agree that in that case the number of living beings (living units) in the universe is a constant number, because one dies and another one is born and thus takes his/her place…?
Does reincarnation suffer from an amnesia problem in it's intended functioning? Reincarnation allows us to make up for our sins in the previous lives, right? But how are we supposed to do that if we forget everything about our previous life when we are reborn. If we do good in this life then we can improve our station in the next life but what about the sins we still carry around with us.How do we make up for them if we can't even remember them, huh? Or is the slate wiped clean after we are reincarnated so we can start from scratch?
Do you think there's a link between the hypothetical multiverse and reincarnation? I think there's a fundamental link. I believe that if we, after we die, continue to reincarnate on this planet, space would be very limited. I reckon there's a good chance we get reincarnated, if reincarnation actually exists, on to another planet, perhaps in one of the potential "infinite number of universes". What do you guys think? I want intelligent answers, not people who come up with crap.
Does the thought of reincarnation give you hope of the afterlife? I could be walking around as just some person that use to be alive and now in my own body and not even know it. Does this have to do with deja vou? When you've seen something familiar but you can quite tell what it came from? Or you dreamed about something and then it happens in real life as a sign or something? I think reincarnation could be real.
Do you have to believe in the concept of reincarnation to be a Buddhist ? I have been researching Buddhism lately, and I agree with many of the ideals. I do not however believe in reincarnation, is it still possible to be Buddhist without fully agreeing to this? I feel that many religions are strict and staunch when it comes to going against ideals within that religion, I was always under the impression that Buddhism was one of the most open and free religions known. Thanks, and I will be eagerly awaiting responses.
Can anyone tell me some websites on the Hinduism belief of reincarnation? I am in a religions of the world class in collage, and I was wondering if anybody could give me some websites about the Hinduism belief of reincarnation. My book only briefly describes it, and I want to write an essay about it but i need to use a web source. I would appreciate it, and thank you very much!
What is the difference between Rebirth and Reincarnation? So far I've gathered that 'rebirth' in Buddhism is the circle of samsara - where there is no 'self' and we reborn again and again, whereas 'reincarnation' is a Hindu belief where people, based on the karma of their current life, reincarnate into all sorts of other creatures and beings depending on whether the karma is good or bad. I'm not sure if this analogy is correct; it's just what I've deduced so far..
How does reincarnation work? I was wondering about the whole process of reincarnation believed in some religions, such as Buddhism and many others. Anyone have some knowledge on this? It seems like a really interesting idea to me.
What does ignorance refer to in reincarnation? In reincarnation, it is said that one takes birth in the animal kingdom if he becomes ignorant and human form if in passion. What is this ignorance? There is limitless knowledge one can possess in life. Hence there is innumerable things to be ignorant of. and obviously one cannot be fully knowledgeable in life. What ignorance do they talk about exactly? Thanks in advance! :)
Question for people who belive in reincarnation? I am curious to know if there is any such thing as an anomalous reincarnation? I mean, someone coming back to the wrong life/period of time? It's something I've wondered about for years and just some incidents today brought it to the forefront again, so I thought I'd ask.
Should the law of reincarnation be taught in schools? It seems that both Buddhism and Hinduism teach reincarnation. To eliminate the philosophical reasons for reincarnation altogether seems to be a biased viewpoint of atheists and agnostics. Its significance is seen in viewing what exactly the law of karma entails, which was stated in Newton's laws as the law of action and reaction. Personally, I think it should be examined.
In Tibetan Buddhism, no distinction is made between rebirth and reincarnation? We use the terms interchangeably. I'm not sure why some Western Buddhists think there's such a big difference. Just because it's a little different than the Hindu idea of reincarnation, doesn't mean it's not reincarnation. Rebirth fits the dictionary definition of the word "reincarnation." When you die, your consciousness continues.
What does the Bible say about reincarnation? Belief in reincarnation is an ancient phenomenon and is a central tenet within the majority of Indian religious traditions, such as Hinduism, Sikhism, and Jainism. Many modern pagans also believe in reincarnation as do some New Age movements, along with followers of spirit ism. For the Christian, however, there can be no doubt: reincarnation is unbiblical and must be rejected as false?
Where is heaven or if you believe in reincarnation? I was just wondering where do you think Heaven is? How many of you think if you are in Heaven do you keep to check in on your loved ones and help them out when needed some times? If you beleive in reincarnation, how long does it take for you to come back?
Do you believe in reincarnation; please elaborate as to why or why not? I am curious to know why a person would or would not believe in reincarnation. Personally, I will not deny a concept until I am given reason to doubt it. My personal theory is that, should there be a soul, it is a universal one. I do believe in reincarnation but have a largely different perspective from most others on the matter. Trolls are not welcome.
Could a child wanting to be opposite gender be related to reincarnation ? I'm referring to a boy who likes to play with girls toys, wear girls clothing, or otherwise has behaviors and traits of a female or vice versa. An example related to reincarnation would be where a boy in the present life may have been a woman in his past life or a series of past lives and may carry over traits from those lives in to the current one.
What sects of Christianity believe in reincarnation? Someone told me that Bible makes many mentions of reincarnation such as Elijah being reincarnated as John the Baptist. I don't remember the idea reincarnation being accepted in Christianity and I would like to know what sects of Christianity believe in reincarnation.
How many percent of atheists believe in reincarnation? I am atheist and don't believe in reincarnation, but I was watching the horrid Dane Cook (don't ask) and he did a joke of how he was talking to an atheist who believed in reincarnation. so question is how many percent of atheists do??
Reincarnation, why is it that some previous lives are very popular while others are not? I've noticed lots of people claiming to be things like Ancient Egyptians in their previous life but hardly anyone claiming to be an Australian Aboriginal or a native Irian Jayan or any other primitive culture that doesn't wear pants. Why is it so? You see a few claiming to be an Irish washer woman or a soldier etc.... But they are still modern civilized pants wearing persons. Persephone, I applaud your pantless past :-)
What is it about reincarnation that makes you believe in it? If it's true...it seems like all the Bible characters would be reincarnated...and the saints who keep appearing to people and answering prayers. What about all the people who haunt places for so many years? Why weren't they reincarnated? To me...it beats purgatory! (But then maybe purgatory is on earth in your next life.) (Hope not!) Whatever happened to FORGIVENESS???
Why do some people not respect me accepting reincarnation? They seem to accept me being Buddhist, but then get all huffy about science and "no proof, NO PROOF" when I say I accept reincarnation too. I don't push my beliefs on anyone, and the way I see it if I'm wrong oh well, I wont remember, and if I am right then oh well, I still wont remember. By the way, I don't care what people think at all, I'm just curious why people think the way they do sometimes.
What signs do you see in nature which would support a belief in reincarnation? I look at my garden coming to life every spring. I know that there is still life under the ground even when everything is frozen, but it still seems miraculous to see the peonies pushing out their shoots again when they died back to the ground last fall. These are the same plants, but the leaves and flowers will be all new.
Is there really such a thing as reincarnation? I have always believed that when we die we are done here on earth. Now though I am not so sure. I have been reading about reincarnation and I am now consumed with doubts. Can anyone help?
What does it mean when i dream of reincarnation? About 3 or 2 nights ago i had this dream, i can remember most things exactly. Basically I was leading some kind of Revolution against a wealthy man that controled everything in the lives of everyone so, he sent someone to kill me and look like an accident, after that i was sorta reincarnated into an asian man who worked for the wealthy opressor guy, who then saw me talking to one of my rebel friends of my past life, then i was captured by 2 of his men and i was tortured by him(wealthy opressor man) later, i could listen gunshots and screams outside(the Revolution i guess) i was tortured so badly, so while the man laughed at my pain i decided to take a gun that was lying on the ground and shot myself. Then i reincarnated into what seemed to be an English guy, the revolution was over, the rebels lost the battle, then the wealthy guy found me and started talking about reincarnation, so i thought he had found out i was reincarnating. He locked me up in what seemed a bathroom, thats it. By the way, when i remember i shot myself being the asian man, i can remember that it felt so intense, so real. By the way, when i remember i shot myself being the asian man, i can remember that it felt so intense, so real. Yet, i knew in my conscience that the shot was really intense, i didn't woke up, i kept dreaming that after the suicide there was just a brief darkness and then i saw myself as the English guy. Actually DreamDoc I at first was myself, i got killed and reincarnated into the asian man, then i shot myself cause i was being tortured badly, then i reincarnated into the English guy. Another thing i forgot to write is that when i was locked in the bath as the english man i heard my wealthy rival/enemy coming, i heard steps and also i heard him singing as he came forth, just then i woke up so i guessed that in the dream i was going to get killed once again. And, the low self esteem is weird cause i normally have a high self esteem, can say i love myself :P I researched on key stuff in my dream like: suicide, the revolution, reincarnation, getting killed, having a overwhelming enemy etc. I found they all have a thing in common about relationships. Lately i've had some troubles with my girlfriend and everything is ok now, but do you thing it might have something to do with it?
Reincarnation, please give me logical reasons to consider it as a possibility? I am agnostic. I would say I'm an atheist, but I am open to possibilities of a god, or life after death. (I was raised christian fundamentalist, but am not any longer) I don't feel that the heaven/hell model for the afterlife makes any sense, at least not hell. I don't know much about reincarnation. Are there any logical, rational people out there who believe in reincarnation? If so, please tell me about what you believe.
Do Atheists believe in reincarnation or wormdirt? I am really just curious as I have heard both from friends, And if you believe in reincarnation do you believe you will come back as another human? What if you didn't know you had been an Atheist in a past life and became a Christian in a new life do you think before you die again something would happen to make you become Atheist again?
Any one know of any good reincarnation manga or manhwa? Now I really enjoyed Threads of Time, though I'm not necessarily requesting a manga or manhwa like Threads of Time. I just thought you should now it was really good. Now I have a hankering for more reincarnation stories, have any suggestions? Thank you!
Any one knows of good information on déjà vu and/or reincarnation? I have had déjà vu several times in a week consistently since 24 may 2004. This was a day that defined my life as it is today because many strange things happen over time to make a long story short but nothing terrible but definitely life changing, however, that day started the ball rolling on where I am today but I am not compelled to think it is a form of reincarnation but I definitely feel like I have been many places before not to mention have lived life before but in reality I know this as my first life but déjà vu feelings make me think otherwise. Any good books on déjà vu as well as reincarnation and how/if they are related. I am open to look for information specifically on déjà vu alone as well as specifically reincarnation if possible.
Can someone tell me something about reincarnation? I'm confused by the word reincarnation. Some people said that after the death we're gonna reincarnate to a new life. So, don't you think that the human population in the world is increasing? If we are reincarnating, then where others people come from?
For those who believe in reincarnation? Do you know of teachings that describe the order of old souls and new souls? More specifically, if old souls have 'newer soul children' or if new souls can parent old souls? Is it just which ever random order works out cosmically for all involved or is there an order theory out there somewhere?
How to find out if you are the reincarnation of someone in the past.? So, ever since I can remember, I have been drawn to particular periods of time and people from those times. I often have dreams of what my research has shown to be 18th century France, particularly masquerade balls, parties, etc. Is there some way to find out who I was in my past life? I have an idea, but I want to be sure. Please no "your going to hell" answers. Thank you in advance.
What church accepts reincarnation as doctrine? I am looking for "an ecclesia"( aka church or group of people to fellowship with) for my new found belive in reincarnation...I never wanted to stand alone in my present truth...It has just come upon me...Please contact me if you are in the same situation...I have enough people in my world that are not interested..peace
Why when people are talking about reincarnation? (or even when we read in a book about who we were in our past lives) everybody says they were princes, archiduchesses,a very famous singer but not a homeless person eating from the garbage? Were we all noble people in our past lives?
Question to those who believe in reincarnation and karma ? What good does karma do if we cannot remember the misdeed in a previous life that is bringing punishment in this one? Some say karma is a lesson rather than punishment, in that case how can we learn from a misdeed we cannot even remember doing?
If some people believe in reincarnation and there are more people being born than there are dying how? How can it be true if more people are being born? Is this question interesting enough for a star? I understand that some people will say that there are more dead people than living people but there are more people born each time than there were parents, lets say the first man and woman each had three children that went on to have even more children. How can reincarnation happen if there are more people born each time? Most people who believe in reincarnation always assume that only human souls are reincarnated.
Vegetarians, do you believe in reincarnation and karma? If so do you believe people who mindlessly eat meat will have to suffer similar fates in future lives for the pain and suffering they ignored in order to satisfy their desires? This is not to say that all people eat meat without knowing the larger ramification or don't do so in a more ethical way than the masses. But nevertheless for every action their is an equal an opposite reaction. The real question is how will these reactions manifest themselves.
Do you think my pet is a reincarnation? I have a lepord gecko named damien and everytime I watch king of the hill and scrubs on the tv he comes out from under his rock and watches the shows and then goes back when they are done. I'm serious this happens everytime, could this just be something weird with geckos?
Do you understand the Buddhist concept of reincarnation.? I've been studying Buddhism and it really jives with my view of the world, except for reincarnation. I'm trying to reconcile this idea with my scientific view of the world which doesn't allow for such mystical paranormal hocus pocus.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of reincarnation? Is reincarnation evil or good? What are your thoughts on this? What do your holy teachers and holy books say about this? (Of course, this is another interfaith question. Thanks!) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/researching-pastlives At least materially reincarnation is an inconvenience. We have to suffer the discomforts and possibly pains of death. There is not telling if or how much we might suffer after death. Then, when we have to take birth again, we may encounter so much suffering in the womb, so much suffering getting out of the womb, so much suffering being a helpless child and so on. Our present body is a very real illusion. So, when we reincarnate, we are just entering into another very real illusion. When will we be our true eternal selves?
