Reincarnation and a constant number of living beings?
If there is reincarnation, would you agree that in that case the number of living beings (living units) in the universe is a constant number, because one dies and another one is born and thus takes his/her place…?

- you'll be ok sleep it off buddy
- No, I don't believe that there can be a constant number of living beings (although "living beings" is open to conjecture). Quite a while ago I read that ... there are more people alive today, than have ever lived ... That seems to discount any reincarnation theories (for human beings at least). As for the universe, well, um ... anything is possible.
- You know i never thought about that before - You get a star! I believe so, as the amount of humans increases alot of animals around the world decrease. * FYI there is more living beings than just humans :)
- The concept of one person dying and another being born at the same moment (perhaps being a reincarnation of the first person) keeping the overall number of living beings constant is not valid. Babies may be born that are not reincarnations, but brand new souls. (Hence the world's ever increasing population.) Who's to know, anyway?
- Oh yes I believe
- Every soul that was ever created was created at once. We are all here Now. However, consciousness is a marvelous thing. It can be divided into a thousand pieces. A million. A million times a million. God has divided Himself into an infinite number of "pieces" so that each "piece" of Him could look back on Itself and behold the wonder of Who and What He is, of Who and What We Are. Remember, there is only One of Us.
- souls have families and groups.a soul has more than one incarnation at a time. math is wonderful but doesn't work here
- I notice you say "living being" rather than "human being". Thus what you say has merit. However this would be difficult to track! In overall terms I think you are on the right lines although I'm not sure about a constant number.
- You forgot the countless insects, bacterias, amuba. So no one knows the number and whether or not it's constant.
- So who organises the tranfers. Any idea?
- LOL I answered a similar question with a better response, which I hope you will read , its not in depth, since I tried to keep it simple, but you might find some keywords, that relate to your question. Immediate response though to what you are proposing specifically is an idea that you may find interesting........ "The many-worlds interpretation" and "Twin Flames" - if you are interested and look into them specifically, you will find yourself all over the place with theories and so on. A twin flame is a single soul that represents the so-called “other half” of yourself (actually “other whole” is more accurate, as your twin flame is a sovereign being in his/her own right). When souls were originally differentiated from the whole, they split into pairs and then split again and again until they became billions of fragments of the original coded pair. One member of each original soul pair almost always remains in higher dimensions to guide while the other member explores lower worlds. Here is a link to the answer I had earlier. If I am totally off , I take critism well, and if that is the case please do tell.
- I believe that at the beginning of time Spirit only created so many souls and these souls inhabit our bodies while on Earth. We never meet anyone that we have not known in a previous lifetime. These souls come from the other side of life to this one and we continue to learn on both sides, here it is about more material things and there it is about more spiritual things, so that our souls grow and someday when we have learned enough we go back to Spirit because we are all a part of Spirit. Make sense? It does to me and that's why I believe in reincarnation--reincarnation is also my explanation for why babies are born deformed or retarded. It's because of something they did in a previous lifetime and so they choose to come back that way in order to learn more and have deeper spiritual growth. If I did not believe in reincarnation I could never reconcile in my mind why Spirit would do something so awful to an innocent newborn baby.
- Not at all.Even if reincarnation is true it is not necessary that total number of living beings is constant or otherwise. There is no nexus between the two as you have tried to forge here.
