1. lol I've had the same problem, there aren't many MUDs but an atrocious amount of MUCKs if you're into the whole role-play only thing, wikifur lists a few Muds along with other Mu*s. http://furry.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Multiplayer_worlds try to sift through the links if you've got time.
2. shangrila is a fantasy (adult themed) MUSh, but it has LOTS of furries too There are quite a few other MU*s, but I can't think of them right now, try www.mudconnector.com
