  1. You want a fair bit of lift so that the mud doesnt get stuck around the wheels, and also when you do creek crossings you dont want to swamp your motor, or get stuck. You're lucky. Theres lots of lift kits made for your truck. You should be able to get 4" suspension lift easily. You can also do a body lift of around 2" The highest reasonably priced lift kit I can get for my truck gives me around 2" and also a 2" body lift. Wheels and tires, I would use steel wheels. Alloy ones can snap, and also mud will leave marks on them. Steel are heavier, but stronger and cheaper to replace. Tires, Look at around a 35 or 37 inch. Get a good brand like Mickey Thompson or Simex. I would keep your stock ones, as its not gonna be fun driving these on the highway.
  2. i had a 4" lift on my wrangler with steel wheels and 33" tires. i never got stuck but mainly obstacle courses off roading.
