What is it about reincarnation that makes you believe in it?

If it's true...it seems like all the Bible characters would be reincarnated...and the saints who keep appearing to people and answering prayers. What about all the people who haunt places for so many years? Why weren't they reincarnated? To me...it beats purgatory! (But then maybe purgatory is on earth in your next life.) (Hope not!) Whatever happened to FORGIVENESS???

  1. i believe in reincarnation, because it's the idea that you continue to learn and grow and then eventually reach "heaven". it makes a lot more sense to me than the belief that you can do a lifetime of evil then on your deathbed repent earnestly and be let into the same heaven as everyone else with no lesson learned (no offense Christians). also fixed my confusion over what happened to the biblical saints before jesus. i rather the idea that they get reincarnated, than that they're just sitting in the ground waiting till judgment day. as for ghosts, i believe it's either a space time continuum thing (two people living in the same house but at different times, both time periods see "ghosts" which are just blurry figures of the other people). or that ghosts are just lingering energy left from when we die. or it's people waiting to be reincarnated. or it's hell (that you spend eternity on earth). who knows.
  2. I think you have to let go of the present life in order to reincarnate. If you don't, you are a ghost and you haunt some place. ;) I also agree with you about the Saints and the Ascended Masters (like Jesus and Mary). But what makes me believe in it is my own experience. There are spiritual things I knew, that I had never studied and later ended up reading about them in books. I can't think of another reason how I could know so many things naturally without reincarnation involved.
  3. I personally am undecided on the question of reincarnation although I believe it is possible and there is evidence that is at least suggestive of the possibility. Psiexploration
  4. Although I don't believe in it, I'm too much a spiritual beginner to say; the idea of a 'second chance' to learn and grow more is appealing and answers some aspects of nature the Bible doesn't address. I would love to know I never have to come back to Earth once I 'graduate', but that's up to God, not me. If I must, I must.
  5. Since there are billions more people now then a hundred years ago.Are new souls created as more people are born? Was there a finite number at the beginning? Will we run out of souls as our population increases? Will people be born without souls when they run out?Are they being recycled or stored while reincarnated as insects, rats and worms? In a category that doesn't make sense to me very often.Reincarnation stands as especially senseless. The answer is nothing makes me believe it.I threw that last sentence in to satisfy report monkeys.
  6. I never believed in reincarnation until I had a past life memory. It was so real and vivid and when i traced it back I could actually find the events when it took place. No one on this planet cant tell me what I remebered wasnt real. Reincarnation is mentioned in the bible, but hundred of years ago the church took out many of it in its doctrines. If you read the new testament it talk about john the baptist being the reincarnation of the prophet Elijah. And if you read about elijah, he murdered some people in his lifetime, and john the baptist was beheaded in his (karma). It is my belief that "god" gives us many chances , not just one. Now you ask why is is that saints are not reincarnated? That is because most of them have already reached that state of what the buddists called "nirvana" and no longer have to reincarnate. The reason the buddists believe that the reason for us being here is to reach that state and some like jesus have already done so. They only choose to reincarnate if they feel mankind needs thier guidance. As far as haunted places, it depends. Sometimes its not always actual souls that are in hauntings, but just the energy of people or events thats stuck in time. Some paranormal activity is actually the etheric doubles of people that has been left behind, and the actual souls have passed on to higher planes. Then there are some souls who state of mind is low, negative, or unevolved, so whn they pass, they remain on lower planes rather than ascend to higher. We can actually see or contact them easily becuase their plane is actually closer to the physical plane. They in time will reincarnate and learn the lessons that are needed for them to reach that state of high consiousness called "nirvana".
  7. the fact of karma.....everyone has karma to clear up until we reach our perfect stage.....so we have to continue to take births until our karmas are completely cleared
  8. Have you seen this short documentary on children who said that they lived before? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RRs7fXjs_w keep an open mind
  9. I am not really that experienced but I'm starting to believe in the idea. I dunno how to explain.. it's just that my intuition tells me that it does make sense rather than what the Bible says. With the idea of reincarnation, it feels like the reason we each live in this world is for our "soul development".
  10. a lady told me she visited her past lifes through some sort of meditation, it could be true.
