When Racial Memory is projected as an explanation,Why reincarnation is rejected at the outset?

Ther are media reports in support of reincarnation, as people recalling their previous birth and reaching for the place and people getting it confirmed.

  1. There are media reports about lots of stuff. Doesn't make it real!
  2. There is nothing in science that supports reincarnation,
  3. To me, your question is really one of self-identity. I think that if you believe in reincarnation, you must believe that a black person could be reincarnated as a white person and vice versa, with a number of other iterations. If you believe in Racial Memory, then you might have a limited view that, "I am black," or "I am white," etc. In reality, all of humanity, all of life shares a single type of consciousness that may better define us than any narrow point of view. If you look deeply into the question, "Who am I?" you may find an answer that goes beyond any conception of personal self or race, a conception that unites all of humanity, that unites all life into one being that exists here and now. The realization of this has lead many to an understanding of peace and love that exists beyond all conditions, beyond all karma, beyond race.
  4. pardon??
  5. The science of reincarnation is explicitly explained in the Vedic literature of ancient India. It states that an individual's true identity lies in their soul - the inner most self. The soul is pure spirit covered by the subtle body (false ego, material intelligence, mind) and gross body (the knowledge acquiring senses and working senses). While our body changes in this life and the next, the soul is eternally the self. During the course of our life we shape our identity based on who and what we associate ourself with. Having misidentified oneself with the material situation life after life, the self is destined to take another material situation. Then at the time of death, whatever one desires and deserves is acquired. Hence, we see people being born in different circumstances of life. As it is explained logically and empirical evidence supports it, therefore it is scientific. Modern science does not support karma and reincarnation because it works within a limited paradigm, which tends to shift every so often, unable to attain a conclusive truth, encompassing all levels of reality. Of course, modern science does have it's advantages in terms of technology, medical advancement etc. - but there are no department to understand the nature of the soul and consciousness. This is the presentation made in the Bhagavad Gita As It Is, and summarised in "Coming Back - The science of reincarnation".
