What is a cool free online rpg game?

I want an online rpg game like runescape but not like one that you have to go out and buy then no online charges.

1. There is one called Habbo Hotel, and there is like 10 different versions. The most popular is the international (.com) one. It's not really an "rpg" but you can meet new people, make some new friends, collect furniture (known as furni). I play it and it's really cool. There's only about 10,000 active users on the international one, but that's more than enough.
2. best one I know is Ragnarok Online, but there is a $12/month fee. The first 15 days are free though. You just have to down load all the files (about 1GB).

If you want a game to have fun on, then try www.kingdomofloathing.com, it is not so much about the stats and stuff, but more about the content in the game, which is completely made up and always VERY funny. For instance, your currency in the game is meat, so you are constantly trading meat for items. Not as serious as Runescape, but free and well worth the time if into MMORPG's.
4. There are also MUD's. Text only games that are still somewhat popular. You use a telnet-like client to connect. Check www.mudconnector.com There are role-playing, non-role-playing, player-kill, non-pk, etc... Different classes, races, levels, mages, etc... All free, you just need to download a free client like wintin or something to connect.

9. I would agree. I say Habbohotel.com you may have to pay for extra things. But its still great you have alot of other things to do. 10,000 people i agree its enough. But there are internationals habbohotel's too. I would also say maplestory (mapleglobal.com). Thats a pretty good game. And also Club Penguin is okay i guess.
